The Trustees are pleased to announce a new award, the BGRF Prize (plaque with accompanying $5,000 award), to be awarded every year to a young researcher, for excellence in the fields of neuroscience or palliative care. Institutions will be asked to nominate up to two scientists by providing a CV, a page on their future directions and their NH&MRC fellowship application. Nominated researchers should be within five years of receiving a PhD.
Requests for nominations for the inaugural 2010 BGRF Prize were sent out to institutions on 24 February 2010 and close at 5.00 pm on Tuesday 20 April 2010. The 2010 winner will be announced at our annual function on Tuesday 27 July 2010.
The Trustees will continue to award the BGRF Medal (with accompanying $5,000.00 award) acknowledging the contribution of a pre-eminent scientist as appropriate i.e. not necessarily every year. The winner would have a sustained body of work over 10 to 15 years.
