PhD SCHOLARSHIPS POSTPONED FOR 2026

Unfortunately the Foundation is not able to offer a PhD scholarship in 2026 but is hopeful that this award will be made available again in the near future.

This scholarship is subject to available funds and as such is not offered every year.

When funding becomes available candidates will be advised on the site and through their. institution’s research office which will be invited to submit a specified number of candidates for consideration. Only applicants from institutions with a dedicated research office able to administer the award will be considered.

This scholarship is intended to assist first-class honours students who have not received an Australian Postgraduate Award or other substantial scholarship. Applicants must have completed tertiary studies that are at least equivalent to a 4-year honours degree at an Australian university with a minimum result of first-class honours. Also, applicants must be Victorian residents and have applied for, or be currently enrolled in a graduate research degree. The successful applicant must be able to commence their PhD early in the following year.

Applications from H1 students must include the following:

  • cover page with name, institution, PhD title and contact details for the applicant and research office
  • 100-200 word summary of their PhD proposal
  • Copy of academic transcript and CV
  • Letter of support from the supervisor

Scholarships cover two-thirds of a full three-year scholarship and students will be required to seek an additional third from their department or other sources.
