APPLICATIONS FOR BGRF FUNDING IN 2025

Institutions are asked to select the three best applications for research into progressive neurological disorders, stroke or palliative care for funding in 2025. Applications will be accepted in the week beginning 29 July 2024 before 5.00 pm on 2 August 2024.

We are changing some key elements of the 2025 funding round to try to streamline the administration of grants. Firstly each grant will now be a flat $50,000 so applicants will need to structure their research to suit this amount. We will also require applications to be submitted through each institution's research office. The research office will need to coordinate the administration of each successful grant. This means that they will need to advise the Foundation of the progress of each grant before submitting one of the three invoices. All requests for extensions will need to be coordinated through the institution's research office and then submitted in writing providing reasons for the delay and a new completion date.

As explained above only project grants for $50,000 will be consider. Applicants must be carrying out research in the State of Victoria and preference will be given to research
projects which have an active link with Calvary Health Care Bethlehem.

We can only accept applications during the week of 29 July to 2 August 2024 and only those approved, and sent centrally from each institution's research office will be considered. Also we can only accept one application from each researcher regardless of whether they are the chief investigator or a member of another team.

Researchers must be able to commence their project at the beginning of 2025 for completion on 31 December 2025.

All projects are funded for one year and investigators seeking further funding will need to apply as separate complete projects for each year. The Foundation is committed to maximizing medical research and will not fund administrative overheads.

Applications will be assessed using the criteria below:
• Innovation and creativity
• Research quality and feasibility
• Significance, and
• Track record relative to opportunity

An application form with restrictions on length can be downloaded from : http://www.bethlehemgrf.com.au/requestfunding.aspx as it is the same as last year.
Please direct enquiries to Julienne Lewis at commedge@tpg.com.au.

You will need to provide a separate digital copy to commedge@tpg.com.au saved as a single PDF, (clearly titled with the chief investigator's name and institution) for each application as well as one hard copy posted to:
