CALL FOR MEDICAL RESEARCH GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR 2026

2024 BGRF grant recipients

The Foundation is only able to offer a very limited number of grants in 2026 so institutions are asked to select one application for a research grant into progressive neurological disorders, stroke or palliative care to commence early in 2026.

Applicants for grants, which are for $60,000, must be carrying out research in the State of Victoria and connected to an institution with a dedicated research office with the ability to administer the grants. Preference will be given to research projects that have an active link with Calvary Health Care Bethlehem.

We only accept applications in response to this call out and they must come centrally from each institution. Researchers can only enter one application each, regardless of whether they are the chief investigator or a member of another team.

Researchers must be able to commence their project at the beginning of the following year for completion on 31 December of that year.

All projects are funded for one year and investigators seeking further funding need to apply as separate stand-alone projects for each year.

The Foundation is committed to maximising medical research and consequently does not fund administrative overheads.

Applications are assessed using the criteria below:

  • Innovation and creativity
  • Research quality and feasibility
  • Significance, and
  • Track record relative to opportunity

Application forms with restrictions on length can be downloaded from [here] at any time but can only be submitted between 30 June and 4 July 2025.

Please direct enquiries to our CEO, Julienne Lewis at commedge@tpg.com.au.

You will need to provide a separate digital copy saved as a single PDF, (clearly titled with the chief investigator’s name and institution) for each application as well as one hard copy posted to:
